At the highest end of the market, VIP airliners offer separate areas for the principal and accompanying party. Depending on the aircraft, the cabin may include a master suite, en-suite facilities, a dining and conference room, and additional seating for guests, advisers or staff.

For larger delegations and touring parties, an airliner configured with business-class or lie-flat seating serves a different requirement: keeping the group together, with the cabin space and baggage capacity the journey demands. A wide-body aircraft may be appropriate where passenger numbers, payload and routing call for it.
